ISH claims the $25,000 Wellington final

USA’s Charlotte Jacob parterned the North Star’s Irish Sport Horse Pablo C (Pollux de Muze Z x Pacino) to two flawless rounds to win the Lövsta Future Challenge $25,000 Seven-Year-Old Final in the International Arena at Wellington International.

“This series is unbelievable for a young horse,” said Jacobs, who stopped the clock with only fractions to spare in 41.963 seconds.

“[Pablo] was a pretty experienced seven-year-old for his age when we got him, and he just keeps getting better and better; I’m incredibly excited for him.”

Pablo C was bred by Jordan Campbell and joined Jacobs team in 2022 and they jumped at the World Breding Championships in Lanaken last September.

Jacobs spends the summer months competing in Europe with her base at Greg Broderick’s Ballypatrick Stables in Thurles.

Ireland’s Senan Hayes celebrated St Patrick’s Day in style by winning the $15,000 North Star Six-Year-Old Young Jumper Final aboard Mischievous for owner Cody Parker.

Retirement of two greats

CHARLOTTE Jorst’s 20-year-old stallion Kastel’s Nintendo and Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu’s 18-year-old KWPN gelding All In both bowed out of competition sport in emotional retirement ceremonies at Wellington International during the CDI5* Grand Prix Freestyle night under floodlights last Friday. Both decorated horses have had long and illustrious careers at top level of dressage.

Third place for Coyle at Live Oak International, Ocala.

DERRY’s Daniel Coyle put in a strong performance to finish third in the four-star $55,000 Longines Grand Prix Qualifier 1.55m speed class at Live Oak International in Florida last Friday aboard Ariel Grange’s Gisborne VDL. In what was a nail-biting class, USA’s Aaron Vale delivered the winning round aboard I Adermie R, coming home in 64.20 seconds. Fellow American rider Will Simpson took the runner-up spot aboard Chacco P when they clocked 65.51 seconds ahead of Coyle who stopped the clock in 67.01.
