IRISH riders picked up wins and places at the two-star show in Zuidwolde, The Netherlands last weekend. In Thursday’s 1.35m two-star Silver Tour, Conor Drain got the ball rolling for the Irish contingent as he took a third-place finish when clear in 62.72 aboard Cristo.

On Friday, in the 1.20m qualifier, Conan Wright took the runner-up place when he delivered a clear with Fulenn Du Chatillon in a time of 61.20. One place behind was Jack Ryan who was riding Yes Man and crossed the line clear in 62.84.

Later in the day, Conor Drain took the win in the one-star 1.30m when he answered all the questions with Clementine in a time of 62.04. Drain was back in the ribbons as he claimed fifth place in the 1.45m in the two-star Gold Tour with Imagine when he was one of nine double clears in a time of 38.26.

On Saturday, Wright returned to the line-up, this time taking fifth place with La Ville VDS in the young horse final when they put in another foot-perfect performance in a time of 39.09.

Things continued to improve for Wright as he went on to take the win in the one-star 1.20m two-phase consolation with Fulenn Du Chatillon. The pair delivered a double clear in 31.70. Wright added to his tally when he partnered Jetplane into fifth place in the two-star 1.45m Grand Prix 1.45m. One of six double clears in time of 48.71, he took home almost €2,000 for his efforts. Victory went to five-star Dutch rider Jur Vrieling with KM Chalcedon.

On Sunday, Matt Garrigan was best of the Irish in the two-star Bronze tour final when he finished in sixth place with Quantum Robin V. They came home with a clean sheet in a time of 40.54.
