SWEDEN’S Rolf-Göran Bengtsson scored his first Global Champions Tour win of the season, collecting a purse of €132,000 at the London leg of the series with the stallion Casall Ask. Bengtsson denied the home crowd a local win, with Britain’s John Whitaker finishing just 0.09 of a second slower with Argento in second while France’s Simon Delestre piloted Qlassic Bois Margot to third.

Bengtsson said: “My horse jumped six times this season and every time he was in the second round, so I cannot be more than very happy with him.” British hopes were dashed when last to go Scott Brash was up on the clock approaching the last but knocked it with Hello Sanctos, sliding to sixth place overall.
