Fairyhouse January 1st

Vocito (E. Doyle)

This juvenile hurdler was taking on his elders when he stepped out of maiden company for the handicap won by Djasek and he acquitted himself well to finish third after looking a likely winner turning for home. He shouldn’t be long in winning a handicap against his own age group or taking on his elders.

Naas January 2nd

Fighting Fit (J.P. Dempsey)

He is hardly an original choice after winning a handicap chase in good style last Sunday, however, the manner of his success was taking and would suggest that this gelding could be a force in a valuable two-mile handicap chase before the end of the season. This is a division that often lacks depth.

Naas January 2nd

Rebellious Gale (A.J. Martin)

He posted a respectable effort on his debut to finish in midfield in a Navan maiden hurdle won by Ardla last month and followed that with a respectable seventh to Bronn at Naas on Sunday. He looks up to winning races in due course.

Dundalk January 5th

Talbot (J.P. O’Brien)

He produced his best effort since joining Joseph O’Brien when finishing well from off the pace to be beaten just over two lengths into sixth by Prisoner’s Dilemma in a competitive seven-furlong handicap. It may not be long before he is making his mark on Irish soil.

Dundalk January 5th

Wonder Spirit (N. Meade)

A 10-race maiden, he showed up quite well on his first outing since mid-November when taking third in the handicap won by Kingslayer. Several of his recent starts would suggest that he is up to making his mark this winter and he could be on the cusp of a first success.
