RAY Killeen of Equicom says his company is supplying CCTV cameras to breeders all over the country.
For as little as €265, Equicom can deliver your camera system within two days of ordering. “You can install it yourself - it’s as simple as plug and play,” says Ray.
Equicom assemble and test the camera systems before shipping them to customers.
The most popular foaling camera (which Ray describes as PTZ GSM) has night vision and 360-degree rotation. You can check on your mares from your mobile phone, and it’s also ideal for keeping an eye on horses prone to colic or getting cast in their box.
Night vision
Night vision is typically powered by an artificial light on the security camera placed around the lens. It allows you to see what’s happening in complete darkness. Normally infra-red LED is used as it is cost-efficient and produces a brighter light that covers greater distances than the older non-LED bulb. The light produced by the camera is not visible to the human eye.
