I GREW up on a farm in Fethard, Tipperary. There would always have been horses around the place. My three sisters and I were all taught how to ride ponies at home, although I was the only one who took it further as a career.
My grandfather bred West Tip, the winner of the 1986 Grand National. Both my parents would have worked in the horse racing industry.
