Riding the Irish-bred gelding Tabby, Griffin saw off stiff competition in the 10-strong jump-off to secure the victory.

“I’m delighted with the win. Tabby’s only been back in work for five weeks and this was his first Grand Prix this year,” said Griffin afterwards. “I hadn’t really had it in my mind to go for the win but when I saw Ger (Clarke) take two strides out between fences two and three as the first rider to go, I could see where the time could be made up and I was confident that Tabby could do it.”
