FRESH from landing his first classic with Siskin, Ger Lyons has his sights set on an Oaks bid with the classy Lemista as she made it two wins from as many starts this term in the Listed Irish Stallion Farms EBF Victor McCalmont Memorial Stakes.

After a victory in the Park Express Stakes on the opening day of the season, Lemista was burdened with a Group 3 penalty, but this mattered little to the daughter of Raven’s Pass. An inspired €16,000 foal purchase by the trainer’s brother Shane, this Sean Jones, Lynne Lyons and David Spratt-owned filly was much the best in this extended nine-furlong affair. She was travelling notably well early in the straight, eased to the front and it was a one-sided finish from this point as she cruised to a two-length triumph over Come September.
