THERE are two dun geldings among the 18 four-year-olds catalogued in this month’s Goresbridge Go For Gold sale starting with Jessica Widger’s home-bred Grantstown Georgeous George.

By the locally based dun Irish Sport Horse stallion Tullabeg Fusion, Lot 16 is out of the Templebready Bo’sun mare Grantstown Dark Angel whose previous progeny include the 2014 General Humbert mare Grantstown True Loves (CCIP2-S) and the 2016 Cyklon Texass mare Grantstown Rose Tatoo who has amassed 156 Show Jumping Ireland points.

Grantstown Gorgeous George, who has been slowly produced, has competed in unaffiliated eventing and show jumping competitions.

Lot 25, Henry Foley’s unnamed dun, has also competed in training shows and this fellow has been schooled across the country. By another dun ISH stallion, Rainstown Lad, this gelding is out of Rainstown Golden (by Limmerick).

There are a few horses sure to stand out among the 63 three-year-olds on colour alone among them another dun gelding, MBF Sport Horses’ Rincoola MBF (Lot 74) who is by the Connemara stallion Moonlight Silver Shadow. Bred by the late Harold McGahern, he is the only produce registered on CapallOir out of the unraced Rincoola Duchess, a daughter of Presenting out of an Over The River mare out of a Menelek mare. In its further removes, this is the family of the Grade 1-winning hurdlers Berties Dream and Bannow Bay.

Perhaps you would prefer a three-year-old palomino gelding and here the Widger family offers the home-bred Grantstown Magic Man (Lot 56) who is by Tullabeg Fusion out of a Cobra mare. He is very closely related to Grantstown Jackson (CCIO4*-L).
