THE Group 1 Grosser Dallmayr-Preis at Munich this Sunday is easily Germany’s best middle-distance event and has been the top-rated race of the year in the country on multiple occasions.

Sunday’s edition, however, looked like being – with all due respect – a weak renewal, until it was confirmed on Wednesday that French trainer Jerome Reynier had supplemented his smart four-year-old Skalleti, who is unbeaten in three starts in France this season.
