Equine Business Manager – GAIN Equine Nutrition

Overview

GAIN Equine Nutrition is the equine feed brand of Tirlán (Formerly Glanbia Ireland) and is a market leader in all sectors of the equine industry including Racing, Breeding and Sport Horse sectors. We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent position as an Equine Business Manager based in Ireland. The role will report to the Sales Manager Ireland – GAIN Equine Nutrition.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining and developing sales to a customer base in line with specific targets.

• Ensuring that cash is collected in line with targets and that debtor days are maintained at the level required.

• Representing GAIN Equine Nutrition at shows, sales and various industry events.

• Actively support the marketing team e.g. contributing to social media, liaising with sponsored riders and supported customers.

• Analysing, developing and maintaining key information on all customers.

• Providing technical expertise to customers on a range of equine products.

• Executing campaigns and marketing plans in line with business needs.

• Working closely with a number of other functions within the business including NPD, Finance, Supply Chain and Marketing.

Key Requirements

• Practical, self-starter with proven ability to work and make effective decisions.

• Highly commercial and detail attentive, while being truly customer focussed.

• A third level degree in a relevant Agriculture / Equine discipline is an advantage.

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience selling directly into the Equine or Agri sector.

• A strong knowledge, understanding and passion for the Equine Industry.

• A proven track record of achievement in a competitive sales environment.

• A good technical aptitude with the capability of understanding the scientific elements of horse feed is essential.

• A good working knowledge of IT systems including MS Office.

• Strong negotiation, analytical, time management, interpersonal and communication skills.

• Proven ability to work effectively across teams, internally and externally.
