WILLIE and Emmet Mullins challenge for the Grade 1 prizes at Auteuil over the weekend with Stratum in action today in the Grade 1 Prix Serge Landon - Grand Prix d’Automne (Sky 3.07pm).

The three-mile hurdle has a field of eight but it’s a tough task for the versatile nine-year-old, last seen finishing fourth to Trueshan on Champions’ Day at Ascot, against the two François Nicolle stars L’Autonomie and Hermes Baie.

Tomorrow, the three-year-olds Mctigue for Emmet Mullins and Aghaboy for Willie Mullins line up in the Grade 1 Prix Cambaceres - Grande Course De Haies Des 3 Ans (12.53pm). It will be quite a test over two miles and two furlongs in the forecast heavy going.

McTigue and Donagh Meyler scored a battling win in a Grade 2 here in mid-October from St Donats who reopposes, while Aghaboy who will be the mount of Bertrand Lestrade, is on a hat-trick after September wins at Ballinrobe and Listowel.

Franco De Port will have James Reveley on board in the Grade 1 Prix La Haye Jousselin (Chase) (2.50pm) over three miles and three furlongs. His third in last summer’s Grade 1 Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris (Chase) over three miles and six where he had three of tomorrow’s rivals behind him, gives the seven-year-old a good chance of decent prize money.

François Nicolle supplies five of the nine runners.
