KEENELAND and the Curragh Racecourse have undertaken various initiatives to enhance next Sunday's Phoenix Stakes fixture.

There will be free family admission again this year with children encouraged to bring their parents to the races for free!

The Keeneland Kids Zone will feature a variety of exciting activities for children plus live music throughout the day to add to a great atmosphere.

Adults unaccompanied by children will have to pay the usual €15 admission, so it makes sense to bring the young ones.

Racegoers who take the train to Kildare town can avail of a free shuttle bus to the races.

There is also a Dublin Coach service to and from the races (see dublincoach.ie).

On the track, the big attraction will be the appearance of this season’s leading juvenile Caravaggio in the feature race, the Group 1 €250,000 Keeneland Phoenix Stakes.

Kevin O’Malley, the US Ambassador to Ireland, will be the guest of honour. Ambassador O’Malley will join representatives from Keeneland to present the trophies to the winning owner, trainer and jockey following the running of the big race.
