Pink In The Park, who is well treated by the conditions of this race, should prove hard to beat. The Willie Mullins trained six-year-old finished second on her recent hurdling debut at Gowran Park, shaping well behind a useful sort. Having failed to get her head in front, she escaped a penalty; something that could prove a blessing in disguise.

Harmonya Maker won her maiden hurdle at this venue on her reappearance last month. Prior to that, the daughter of Saddler Maker had finished fourth in a listed bumper here. On that occasion, she was behind Pink In The Park when meeting at level weights, so won’t find it easy now she has to carry a penalty.

SELECTION: PINK IN THE PARK

Mister Bo can make a winning stable debut for Henry De Bromhead. Successful in a bumper at this track on his sole start for Pat Doyle, the seven-year-old looked a nice prospect when staying on well to land the prize. That race has worked out well subsequently, with the third horse going on to win a couple of races over hurdles.

Knockanard Lady could prove the biggest threat to her former stablemate. The daughter of Fame And Glory won her bumper and has been second twice over flights.

Warm In Gorey shaped really encouragingly when second on his handicap debut at Clonmel recently. The third horse went on to frank that form when winning at Limerick on Thursday. Philip Rothwell’s gelding should be open to further improvement having had just the four starts to date. With Paddy O’Hanlon able to claim 5lb, the horse is actually 2lbs lower than at Clonmel.

Moulane West disappointed at Leopardstown over Christmas but is almost certainly capable of better. The seven-year-old had some smart form in decent maiden company last season, a reproduction of which would give him every chance in this lower grade.

Elle Dorado Rock has shown enough in his career thus far to suggest he should be competitive in a race of this nature. The lightly raced five-year-old caught the eye in a stronger contest at Navan on his penultimate start and certainly wasn’t disgraced when dropping back to 2m4f at Cork last time.

If anything, the gelding should appreciate the extra half mile he encounters here.

Three Comets is an interesting contender if staying this trip. A dual winner on the flat, he is well treated over hurdles off a mark of just 95. However, he tends to race freely at times, so Ricky Doyle will need to get the Luke Comer trained gelding settled from the off.

2.35 John & Chich Fowler Memorial EBF Mares Chase (Grade 3) 2m 5f 30yds

Ballyshannon Rose looks ideally suited to the conditions of this race, assuming the quick reappearance doesn’t count against her. Paul Fahey’s mare ran a huge race when seventh in the Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown, close up in third before the last fence, only weakening late on.

Dropping back to this intermediate trip is perfect for a mare who likes to force the pace.

Scarlet And Dove has a bit to prove at this stage, having disappointed when sent off favourite at Clonmel last time. Although rated higher than Ballyshannon Rose, she was well adrift at the Tipperary venue, so has work to do in order to overturn that form.

SELECTION: BALLYSHANNON ROSE

Next best: Scarlet And Dove

James Du Berlais has the potential to develop into a Grade 1 horse this season if retaining the ability he showed when last seen. Considered good enough to contest the Champion Hurdle on his stable debut, he failed to get competitive after a somewhat troubled preparation.

However, he improved from that outing to finish second in the Champion Stayers’ Hurdle at Punchestown the following month.

Capilano Bridge was well beaten at Naas on his chasing debut earlier this month but should strip much fitter here. The seven-year-old tends to need a race or two to reach full fitness, so it wouldn’t surprise if he were to put up a much better performance.

SELECTION: JAMES DU BERLAIS

Next best: Capilano Bridge

Dinoland is a speculative suggestion, despite being the outsider of the Willie Mullins trained pair on jockey bookings. The son of Doctor Dino is very well bred, being a half-brother to three blacktype horses. Although almost certain to need farther than two miles in time, the four-year-old may just get away with it at this point in his career.

Banjaxed would be a very popular winner on an afternoon when the Fowler family are remembered in the feature race. Lorna Fowler has a worthy candidate in this six-year-old, who finished second on his only previous outing. It is likely that he has been kept in reserve for this race for some time.

SELECTION: DINOLAND
