THE Smith Bros Eventing Team was rewarded for their decision to support their home event when Steven, who had four rides, landed the two-runner EI110 (Open) for the second week running on the 10-year-old Vechta gelding Shannador and doubled-up when winning EI100 on his dressage score with MiMi Falb’s five-year-old OBOS Quality 004 gelding, MMF Churchill (25.3).

The Gilford yard dominated this 33-strong class with Smith also finishing fifth on the dressage winner, Hi Mr Henry who had a fence down show jumping for a total of 27.3, while Casey Webb was second and sixth, on her first phase scores, with The Cherokee Flight (25.5) and Reunited (29.3). The in-form Adam Haugh, who, like Smith, has multiple mounts this weekend at Camphire, was third on Stonehavens Baby Blue (26), just ahead of Alex Houston who erred in her dressage test on Cushnahans Dancer (26.8).
