KILDARE’s Camilla Speirs paid a rewarding visit north to Tyrella last Saturday as she recorded her first victory at the seaside venue since 2014 when landing the competitive Open Intermediate on Lukas while placing second in the EI115 with BT Angelo.

In 2020, the entire Lightscourse BP Tyrella season was lost to Covid-19 and the pandemic had already claimed the first of this year’s four fixtures at the Corbett family’s estate. Even on Saturday, things were much changed since the Northern Region of Eventing Ireland held a one-day event there in the spring of 2019 with stringently enforced rules regarding the participation of elite riders only seeing the total number of entries reaching 158, far removed from the initially advertised space for 300.
