AS she did in Tyrella the previous week, Jodie O’Keeffe landed the EI 110 (O) at Lisgarvan aboard her long-time partner Reenmore Duke.

Picking up a winning flat work score of 28.3, O’Keefe maintained the advantage over Esib Power who, also double clear, filled second and third with Calinka GVH Z and Greenfort Gorgeous George.

With less than a mark separating the top three, the spoils in the restricted sector were hard earned. In the end time was the decider, and reversing places with flat work leader Ian Cassells (Millridge Athos) was Sarah Gould with Jane O’Flynn’s Samassino.

This was a first win at the level for both horse and rider, and having opened in second spot, the duo recorded one of only two double clear rounds from a field of 15.

British born Gould has been based with O’Flynn since last season, while the nine-year-old Samassino (by Cassino) was bred by Brenda Nolan and sourced by O’Flynn last year.

The other foot-perfect performance was recorded by Esib Power who, riding Oakland Quality, completed in third.

O’Donnell gets in front

Christine O’Donnell and BGK Valentine (by Craigsteel) may have considered themselves a little lucky to emerge as the winners of an EI 110 class staged for riders with international entries at Ballindenisk.

The Gowran-based pair was very impressive in the FEI dimensioned dressage arena, but despite their clear lead, they did carry forward jump and time penalties.

When the sums were completed, they recorded the same score as second-placed Nicola Ennis and the smart thoroughbred Dawn Arrival. Clodie Coen, meanwhile, was also close in third with Union Fortunas.
