WITH the news of Roi Du Mee’s retirement to injury sustained in his blistering Maralin success on his pointing bow back in October, Gigginstown House Stud have two equally former high-class track recruits to replace him between the flags with both Sir Des Champs and First Lieutenant featuring amongst the entries at Aghabullogue tomorrow.

The former, a French-bred Robin Des Champs gelding, is a three-time Grade 1 winner and a dual Cheltenham Festival hero having landed the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys Handicap Hurdle in 2011 and the Jewson Novices’ Chase a year later.
