“BACK to nature. Everything about the place is natural, no fuss; there is a great air of calm.”

These were the words of one of the member of the Drogheda Dave Racing Club, describing the facilities at Henry de Bromhead’s, when some of its members were able to catch sight, in the flesh, of the two-year-old Pearl Secret colt who carries a weight of expectation on his back. In recent months this series introduced readers of The Irish Field to the club, named in honour of a great friend to all in the group, the late David Clerkin.
