THE torrential downpours which struck the east and north of the country last Saturday caused a lot of upheaval in the world of equestrianism with the Eastern Region of Dressage Ireland making an early call regarding their show at Marlton. “After an evaluation of the weather ahead, the arenas and for the safety of both riders and horses, we unfortunately are going to have to cancel today’s show.” This decision was published on social media at 7.52am.

This weekend, the Midland and Western Region is staging the sole fixture at Ballinasloe showgrounds tomorrow. There are two shows scheduled for Thursday, the South Munster Region running the fourth leg of their O’Brien’s summer league at Skevanish while Dressage Ireland is holding a show at Killossery Lodge Stud where DI judges’ exams are taking place.
