HORSE Sport Ireland today announced the Gain Equine Nutrition Irish U16 (Pony) Dressage team that will compete at this year’s FEI European Championships for Ponies, which will take place at Strzegom, Poland, from August 11th to 15th 2021.

The team, in alphabetical order, is:

Rachel Carr with Calelvador May Blossom (GBR – Welsh Pony & Cob Society)

Cillian Curran with Blokland’s Hoeve’s Amor (NED – Welsh Pony)

Louise Hooijen with Valhallas Zorro (GBR – Welsh Pony & Cob Society)

Oscar O’Connor with Top Hero 2 (GER – Westfälisches Pferdestammbuch e.V.)

Non travelling Reserves: in alphabetical order:

Shauna Fitzgibbon with Damocles LL (GBR – Pet-ID Equine / JRC Horse Register)

Ellen McDonald with Dante Alighieri (GER – Verband der Pony- und Kleinpferdezüchter Hannover e.V.)

Speaking after the announcement, Anne Marie Dunphy, Horse Sport Ireland Youth Dressage Team Manager said:“With six strong combinations making it to the final selection phase each round became more competitive as the athletes gave it their all, making it an extremely tough decision.
