ON a day that witnessed a couple of performances of real note on the two-year-old front, Johnny Murtagh was left contemplating a Royal Ascot assault with Too Familiar who stayed unbeaten in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Race.

Just under two months previously, the €25,000 yearling purchase made a winning debut in a Navan maiden. Here the Fitzwilliam Racing-owned filly faced just four rivals in this five-furlong heat but they included the highly promising maiden winner Gasta and the Rochestown Stakes runner-up Verhoyen.
