Green Glory makes plenty of appeal on his jumping debut. He shaped with promise on his debut in a Naas bumper last March and progressed very nicely from that to land a two-mile–two-furlong bumper at the Punchestown Festival when he accounted for a number of rivals who had solid form to their name.

He appeals as the type to make a useful jumper and he can deal with Ballybawn Belter who won a Leopardstown bumper on her debut last March before being beaten four lengths into second by the 300/1 shot Sawbuck in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown in late May.

The trip is an unknown for Nos Na Gaoithe but she makes most appeal and her pedigree would suggest that this distance should be fine for her. She met with defeat on her first few starts over hurdles but trounced a subsequent winner at Ballinrobe two months ago and then ran a good second to the useful Ambitious Fellow at Listowel. A similar showing to her Listowel run could enable her to take all the beating.

Royal Romeo won a Navan maiden hurdle over two and a half miles last month and should be quite happy moving up to this trip. He might provide the selection with her biggest test.

Go Gill Go was in good form this time last year when she followed a maiden hurdle success at Sligo in July with a series of solid efforts in defeat.

She has lost her way somewhat this year but did shape better than the final result would suggest at Gowran last time and the step up to this longer trip might work while Jack Kennedy is a notable booking for her.

Londonofficecallin is a likely contender based on his most recent effort in a handicap hurdle at Clonmel when he was beaten less than two lengths into second by Corkbeg. A similar showing should see him involved.

It could be worth taking a chance on Kilgorey. This winning point-to-pointer has shown in the past that a race of this nature could be within his grasp and he lines up off quite an encouraging showing at Clonmel late last month where he chased home Appian Way who went on to win again last week.

That looks to be one of the strongest bits of form on offer and he might be able to deal with Corkbeg who recently got off the mark at Clonmel at the expense of Londonofficecallin who puts the form to the test in the first division of this race.

SELECTION: KILGOREY

Idas Boy will come into his own over longer trips. However, he could still be worth taking a chance on.

He tends to run well fresh so an absence stretching back to January isn’t a concern and he actually came back from a year off to win a Thurles maiden hurdle last November when he readily defeated Caesar Rock.

He signed off for last season with a good run against a very talented sort in Gerri Colombe and should make up into a useful chaser.

He might have most to fear from Gua Du Large who was a very useful handicap hurdler at his best and should be all the better for his chasing debut at Gowran recently when he was fourth to Banbridge on his first run since April.

Final Orders is in excellent heart and might be able to make it three wins from his last five starts. His recent wins have come over distances of two and a half miles and two miles and seven furlongs but he showed that he is also quite at home over shorter distances when second to Ingenious Stroke at Downpatrick last month over a similar trip to the one he tackles here.

Low Style is an intriguing runner. He has yet to tackle fences and has just four career runs to his name but he returned from almost 10 months off to run out a commanding winner of a Roscommon handicap hurdle last month. He should make a useful chaser and a decent effort should be forthcoming.

Fan De Blues has to defy top weight but he looks the class act of the race. He showed useful form over this trip as a novice chaser early last season and he lines up off a good victory at Ballinrobe just under two months ago when he dished out a seven-length beating to the very useful Cape Gentleman. He has to carry plenty of weight but looks equal to the task at hand.

Kitty Galore turned in a decent effort at Galway last week to chase home the smart mare Jeremys Flame and that run puts her into contention. Bread And Butter is very interesting. He competed well in a number of quality handicap hurdles last season and he is open to plenty of progress over fences having run just five times over the larger obstacles.

This could see Space Tourist add to the victory she recorded at Tramore in August. On that occasion she won nicely on her first start since March and that race also marked her debut outing for the champion trainer. This daughter of Jet Away should still have more to offer and she gets a marginal vote over My Gaffer.

The latter progressed on a couple of runner-up finishes to win a Listowel bumper last month and that form was franked when the second But What won a four-year-old bumper at Punchestown during the week.
