FOR the third time in as many weeks, the sales action returns to Cavan, where a varied catalogue of performance and leisure horses come under the hammer on Tuesday.

Offering around 142 lots of mixed ages, the edition looks an interesting one, with the three-year-olds standing out as the strongest division. Among this age group are a number of fillies relating to some top international horses from both the eventing and show jumping disciplines, and while the four-year-olds are not so plentiful there are also a number of likely individuals on offer.

Not for the first time at the venue, Padraig Howley’s Sligo Candy Boy tops the numerical list of stallions with six lots on offer, but chasing him all the way, the increasingly prolific Vivant Van de Heffinck is represented by five.
