CAMELOT. It is a good name for an outstanding racehorse. Unbeaten at two when his second run was a win in the Group 1 Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster, he was crowned the juvenile champion in Ireland and England and shared the honour with Dabirsim in Europe.

While the French champion failed to augment his two-year-old record, Camelot won three classics, the 2000 Guineas and Derby in England and the Irish Derby at the Curragh. He narrowly failed to land the Triple Crown when runner-up to Encke in the St Leger. He was, not surprisingly, rated the champion of his age in Europe.
