SOME of the fillies in the British EBF Series Sprint Handicap at Newmarket were running for much more money than usual - some £31,000 - and when Malcolm Saunders’ 4/1 favourite Pixeleen hit the front it seemed she must surely end a long sequence of placed efforts. However, Andrew Balding’s 9/2 shot Summer Chorus, strongly driven by Jimmy Quinn, nailed her right on the line.

Balding is a shrewd judge of certain jockeys for certain horses and Quinn knows Summer Chorus well.
