Nichols Canyon: Pattern placed flat stakes winner Nichols Canyon made it two from two under National Hunt rules with victory in the Grade 1 Bar One Racing Royal Bond Novice Hurdle over two miles at Fairyhouse on Sunday.

The Willie Mullins trained four-year-old was bred by Rabbah Bloodstock Ltd, he is a son of the Derby hero and Haras du Logis stallion Authorized (by Montjeu), and he is a half-brother to the lightly-raced stakes placed filly Bright Approach (by New Approach).

His dam Zam Zoom (by Dalakhani) did not race, and he comes from the immediate family of the Group 1 stars Luso (by Salse) and Warrsan (by Caerleon).

Lieutenant Colonel: Previously a Grade 2 winning hurdler, he is now trained by Sandra Hughes, daughter of the late Dessie Hughes, and he won for the first time at the highest level when taking the Grade 1 Bar One Racing Hatton's Grace Hurdle over two and a half miles at Fairyhouse on Sunday.

Bred by Heather Calzini, and carrying the famous Gigginstown House Stud colours, he is a son of the Overbury Stud stallion Kayf Tara (by Sadler's Wells), and he is the second foal out of the bumper winner Agnese (by Abou Zouz). He comes from the family of the 1989 Champion Hurdle hero Beech Road (by Nearly A Hand).

Valseur Lido: The Willie Mullins trained Grade 2 winning hurdler made it two-from-two over fences with victory in the Grade 1 Bar One Racing Drinmore Novice Chase over two and a half miles at Fairyhouse on Sunday.

Bred by Michel and Nelly Contignon, he is a son of Anzillero (by Law Society), who is a Group 1 winning relation of Galileo (by Sadler's Wells) and Sea The Stars (by Cape Cross), and he is out of the AQPS mare Libido Rock (by Video Rock). His half-brother Tango Lido (by Ungaro) is a hurdles and chase winner in France.

Kalkir: A first crop son of the French-based Group 1 winner Montmartre (by Montjeu), Kalkir made his Irish debut in the Grade 3 Bar One Racing Juvenile 3YO Hurdle over two miles at Fairyhouse on Sunday, and won by eight lengths.

The Willie Mullins trained grey was bred by Haras des Coudraies, he is out of Kakira (by Cadoudal), and his five blacktype earning siblings include the triple Listed chase heroine Katkovana (by Westerner) and the Grade 1 winning hurdler Kotkita (by Subotica).

Many Clouds: Yet another major National Hunt winner for the Sadler's Wells sire line, the Cloudings (by Sadler's Wells) gelding Many Clouds won the Grade 3 Hennessy Gold Cup Chase over three miles, two and a half furlongs at Newbury on Saturday.

The Oliver Sherwood trained seven-year-old carries the famous colours of Trevor Hemmings, and he was bred by Aidan Aherne who sold him for €6,000 in the foal section of the Tattersalls Ireland November National Hunt Sale in 2007.

He is out of Bobbing Back (by Bob Back), which makes him a half-brother to last season's dual Grade 1 hurdles star The Tullow Tank (by Oscar). That horse made a winning debut over fences at Fairyhouse almost a month ago. Their dam is a full-sister to the blacktype placed, multiple chase winning mare Back On Line.

Irving: The Paul Nicholls trained six-year-old is now five from seven under National Hunt rules following his win in the Grade 1 StanJames.com Fighting Fifth Hurdle over two miles at Newcastle on Saturday.

He was bred by Gestut Schlenderhan, he is a son of the Group 1 star and leading sire Singspiel (by In The Wings), and he is a half-brother to this year's dual Group 1 star Ivanhowe (by Soldier Hollow). His dam Indigo Girl (by Sternkonig) was classic placed in Germany.

Medinas: Grade 3 Coral Cup winner Medinas added the Grade 2 bet365 Long Distance Hurdle over an extended three miles at Newbury on Saturday. The Alan King-trained seven-year-old, who was bred by Laurence Gagneux, is a son of the Yorton Farm Stud stallion Malinas (by Lomitas).

His dam Medicis (by Sicyos) is also responsible for the hurdles winner Sweet Irony (by Laveron) and the bumper scorer Vicangelome (by Laveron).

Mister Hotelier: The Colm Murphy trained seven-year-old notched up his first blacktype success when taking the Grade B HB Dennis Land Rover Handicap Chase over two miles, one furlong at Fairyhouse on Saturday.

Bred by Ian Heslin, he is a son of the champion sire and late Knockhouse Stud stallion Beneficial (by Top Ville). His dam Accordion Lady (by Accordion) was unraced, but her other two progeny to race are the point-to-point and hurdle winner Blackwater King (by Beneficial), and the five-year-old Clondaw Farmer (by Scorpion) who won a bumper and a maiden hurdle on his two most recent starts.

Princess Leya: The Margaret Mullins trained mare gave her future paddocks value a tremendous boost by winning the Grade B Roy Evans/Barry Geraghty Golf Classic Handicap Hurdle over two miles at Fairyhouse on Saturday.

The five-year-old was bred by Paddy Behan, she is a daughter of the dual Group 1 classic star and leading sire Old Vic (by Sadler's Wells), and she is out of the Grade C hurdle winner Monte Solaro (by Key Of Luck).

That makes her a half-sister to the triple hurdles scorer Key To The West (by Westerner) and to the Nicky Henderson trained four-year-old Altior (by High Chaparral) who easily won a Market Rasen bumper, in May, on his only start to date.

Carrigmoorna Rock: The Robert Tyner trained mare also gave her paddocks value a boost on Saturday when winning the Listed Thoroughbred Breeders' Association Mares' Novice Hurdle over two miles and 110 yards at Newbury.

The six-year-old, who was bred by Tom McCarthy, is a daughter of the late Ballylinch Stud stallion King's Theatre (by Sadler's Wells), she is out of Carrigmorna Flyer (by Bob Back), and she is a full-sister to the Grade 3 placed Carrigmorna King, whose most recent win came over fences at Stratford in October.

Her four-year-old half-brother Shantou Flyer (by Shantou) chased home Free Expression in the Grade 2 'Monksfield' Novice Hurdle at Navan a week ago.

Hey Big Spender: Now aged 11, the Colin Tizzard trained gelding won the Listed At The Races Rehearsal Chase on Saturday, taking the three mile contest for the third time in the past four years.

He was bred by Oliver Brennan, who also bred his Grade 3 Midlands Grand National winning half-sister Miss Orchestra (by Orchestra). His sire Rudimentary (by Nureyev) has been at Anngrove Stud, in Co Laois, for many years, and his dam is the winning point-to-pointer Jim's Monkey (by Monksfield).

Embracing Change: Prolific point-to-point winner Embracing Change notched up his third win under National Hunt rules when narrowly winning the Grade C Bar One Racing Porterstown Handicap Chase over three miles, five furlongs at Fairyhouse on Sunday.

The nine-year-old is trained by Robert Tyner, he is owned and bred by Finbar O'Neill, and he is a son of the late Glenview Stud stallion Anshan (by Persian Bold). He is out of Temple Heather (by Faustus), he is a half-brother to a couple of other point-to-point scorers, and he comes from the family of the blacktype hurdles and multiple chase winner Fourth Of July (by Rymer).

Epiphaenia: The Grade 1 Japan Cup ended in tragedy for the connections of last year's Group 1 Irish Derby hero Trading Leather (by Teofilo), but it was won by the Katsuhiko Sumii trained four-year-old Epiphaneia, a dual classic placed classic winner in Japan in 2013.

Bred by Northern Farm, he is a son of the champion racehorse and leading Shadai Stallion Station sire Symboli Kris S (by Kris S). He is out of the Grade 1 Yushun Himba (Japanese Oaks) and Grade 1 American Oaks heroine Cesario (by Special Week), and his grandam Kirov Premiere (by Sadler's Wells) is a US Grade 3 scorer who comes from the immediate family of the brilliant sprinter-miler Chief Singer (by Ballad Rock) and of the 1967 Oaks winner Pia (by Darius).
