HOMEBRED by the Wertheimer brothers, Polydream scaled Group 1 heights on Sunday when she landed the Prix Maurice de Gheest. Last year she won the Group 3 Prix du Calvados and was runner-up in the Group 1 Prix Marcel Boussac, and she is another top-flight winner whose dam was sold prior to the victory.

Unlike the dam of Well Timed, who sold for €4,000, the dam of Polydream cost Ecurie des Monceaux €200,000 in a private deal at the Arqana December Sale in 2015. The foal she was carrying, the now two-year-old filly Big Brothers Pride (Invincible Spirit), made that price look like value when she sold as last year’s Deauville Yearling Sale for €400,000 to Meridian International. A real case of win-win for Monceaux.
