CAMACHO sired his first Group 1 winner this year when his daughter Teppal won the Poule d’Essai des Pouliches, the French 1000 Guineas. His best candidate for the honour of being his second top-level winner is probably Signora Cabello, bred by the brothers Damian and Ronan Burns’ Diomed Bloodstock Ltd, and an inexpensive yearling purchase by bloodstock agent Richard Knight at 20,000gns.

She was catalogued in Book 3 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale from Lodge Park Stud and sent into training with John Quinn. In the money on her debut, she is unbeaten in four starts since and has earned eight times her sale price. After landing a listed race at York, she gave owners Phoenix Thoroughbred and Zen Racing a memorable racing moment when winning the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot.
