IT would really be quite appropriate were Torcedor (Fastnet Rock) to go on and land the Group 1 Ascot Gold Cup. The recent winner of the Group 3 Sagaro Stakes is out of a full-sister to the great Yeats, four-time winner of the Thursday centrepiece at Royal Ascot and who is commemorated with a bronze in the parade ring.

Torcedor was bred by David and Diane Nagle at Barronstown Stud and originally trained by David Wachman. He won for him and was listed placed, but he has matured with age and a move to Jessica Harrington. He has also won the Group 3 Vintage Crop Stakes at Navan and been runner-up in both the Group 1 Irish St Leger and Group 2 QIPCO British Champions Long Distance Cup.
