IF there was a prize for broodmare of the week, it is short odds that it would be won by the King’s Theatre (Sadler’s Wells) mare Bonnie Theatre.

Purchased as a foal for a mere €1,500, Bonnie Theatre made a single lifetime start, and judged by the betting on the day she was highly regarded. Racing for Linda Wafer, she lined up as a five-year-old for a Connolly’s Red Mills-sponsored point-to-point at Laurencetown with Jamie Codd in the saddle, and she was runner-up to Carrigeen Kigelia.
