THE pair of Group 1 sprints on the Arc day programme, the five-furlong Prix de l’Abbaye de Longchamp Longines and seven-furlong Qatar Prix de la Foret, were won respectively by home-breds Mabs Cross (Dutch Art) and One Master (Fastnet Rock).

David Armstrong’s Mabs Cross was listed as selling for £3,000 as a yearling at the Doncaster November Yearling Sale. She is the best winner to date for her speedy dam Miss Meggy (Pivotal), winner of the Listed Hilary Needler Trophy in the same colours carried by her Group 1 winning daughter. Miss Meggy is also dam of the Grade 3 Senorita Stakes scorer Charlie Em (Kheleyf) and she has a yearling colt by Iffraaj (Zafonic) and a filly foal by Oasis Dream (Green Desert).
