The six-year-old son of Milan was owned, trained and bred by Ned Mahon and was ridden to victory by Frank Berry. They had four lengths to spare over the Ted Walsh-partnered No Hill, with Michael Furlong back in third place on Shining Flame. Mouse Morris, Arthur Moore and Tommy Carberry were on a few of the jockeys on the also-rans.
