SOME names crop up regularly in this column, and this is only because of continued success. In the case of recent winner To Be Wild, a number of names in the story will be familiar to regular readers of these pages.

Last week I had reason to mention the late bloodstock agent Dave Medbury as he bought Americain. Now he pops up for the second week in a row, having bought the Motivator mare Fire Up for Mary Davison for just 7,500gns. At the time she was carrying her first foal by Avonbridge and the produce was sold as a foal for €9,500.
