CHAMPION Australian sire in 2015/16, Not A Single Doubt died at the age of 21 at Arrowfield Stud’s Scone base on Monday morning. He had been retired from stud duties for approaching three years due to a progressive lung disease. Having deteriorated in recent days, the decision was made to have him euthanized.
Winner of the Listed Canonbury Stakes at Randwick at two, and the Listed Bigpond Zeditive Stakes at Caulfield at three, he was successful on four of his 10 career starts. A son of Redoute’s Choice (Danehill), the sire of 39 Group 1 winners, Not A Single Doubt was bred to be a sire. Though the only stakes winner among eight successful runners from Singles Bar (Rory’s Jester), his dam was a half-sister to the champion Snippets (Lunchtime), later a very successful sire in the 1990s for Arrowfield.
