INDUSTRY heavyweights set a strong pace when the Keeneland September Sale opened on Monday and maintained momentum over the next three days to set a record number of seven-figure sales at 65.

Following the completion of Book 1 and 2, sales totalled $307,639,000, which represented a 3% increase from the corresponding stage 12 months ago.
