A LATE entry for the sale, Jack Darcy (Gleneagles) was bought by Najd Stud for 280,000gns, the most expensive of 13 lots they bought this week, all of which are shipping to Saudi Arabia. The four-year-old gelding was sold by Barton Stud for Paul and Oliver Cole.

Oliver Cole was visibly emotional to see him sold. He said: “It is one of those things; he is a very, very good horse. I think he is a Group 1 horse in the making. I would have preferred to keep him in training with us, but owners have to do what they want to do.” Jack Darcy has shown some of his best form in France where he won the Group 2 Grand Prix de Deauville.
