WOOTTON Bassett, sire of this year's stars King Of Steel, Unquestionable and River Tiber, has had his covering fee increased from €150,000 to €200,000 for 2024.

The 15-year-old stallion, who shot to fame as sire of 2016 dual Champion Stakes winner Almanzor, heads the Coolmore Stud roster which was confirmed on Tuesday afternoon.

New additions for next year are Paddington (€55,000), Little Big Bear (€27,500) and The Antarctic (€6,000).

Paddington (by Siyouni) won four Group 1 races in a row this summer. Little Big Bear (by No Nay Never) was champion European two-year-old of 2022 and won at Group 2 level this year. The Antarctic is a full-brother to champion sprinter Battaash and won two Group 3 races as well finishing second to Blackbeard in the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes.

Of the other 18 stallions at Coolmore, three have had their fees raised (including Wootton Bassett). The others are Sioux Nation (up from €17,500 to €25,000) and Calyx (up from €10,000 to €12,500).

Five stallions remain at their current fees and 10 have had their fees lowered.

Auguste Rodin is not on the list, raising hopes that the dual Derby and Breeders' Cup winner could stay in training, though it is understood a final decision on his future has not yet been taken.

Also missing from the list are Circus Maximus, Gustav Klimt (moved to France in December 2022) and U S Navy Flag.

Coolmore's David O'Loughlin said: "We’re delighted to have three new exciting prospects for the coming season in the shape of Siyouni’s brilliant son Paddington, No Nay Never’s European champion two-year-old Little Big Bear and Battaash’s well-performed own-brother The Antarctic.

"Many of our stallions have enjoyed fantastic seasons but, in line with prevailing market conditions, we’ve decreased the fees of 10 of the 18 which remain on the roster from last year."
