THE new sales season will get underway at Newmarket with the Tattersalls February Sale on February 1st and 2nd. A total of 376 lots have been catalogued for the two-day sale which will once again feature the TBA Flat Stallion parade before the start of the sale on Thursday (1st).

The catalogue, which consists of 146 fillies and mares in/out of training, 27 broodmares, 172 colts and geldings in/out of training, 22 yearlings and nine two-year-olds, features high class consignments from leading owner/breeders including Godolphin, Juddmonte and Shadwell Estate Company, and a host of the highest profile trainers in Britain.

Among the broodmares consigned, Taqaareed, a Sea The Stars own-sister to European champion Taghrooda will be offered in foal to Pinatubo. Choumica, an own sister to 2000 Guineas winner Galileo Gold will be offered in foal to Ardad, and Royal Event, a half- sister to Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes winner King Of Change.

Shadwell will offer six well bred fillies in and out of training led by the 86-rated Tarjamah, a daughter of Dubawi and own sister to Oaks runner-up Tarfasha. Queen Of Fairies, an 85-rated daughter of Cracksman and out of a Group 3-winning half- sister to Teofilo, looks like one of the highlights among the Godolphin draft.
