JUST a few weeks ago I wrote about the Group 2 success of Beauty Only and now I find myself updating that piece following the gelding’s victory on Sunday in the Group 1 Longines Hong Kong Mile. The victory was worth in the region of €1.6 million and is the pinnacle of the son of Holy Roman Emperor’s career to date.

That career began in Italy after his purchase for €72,000 as a yearling there. Bred in Ireland by Italian Massimo Parri, his nine previous successes included the Group 2 Bochk Wealth Management Jockey Club Mile, the Hong Kong Classic Mile and this year’s Chairman’s Trophy. He has also been Group 1 placed and he raced as Gentleman Only in Italy.
