THE final qualifier of the Tattersalls Ireland Treo Eile Showing Pathway Series saw positive entries at Iverk Show last Saturday.

Sarah Neville’s six-year-old Limekiln Rock, stood top of the line in the Novice Racehorse to Riding Horse class. The gelding by Doyoun ran in the colours of Michael and John O’Flynn, when in training with Mouse Morris up to his last run in February. After a few months break, Sarah who works at Everardsgrange, commenced the retraining programme with the big bay.

Taking the blue ribbon and the second qualifying ticket, making the journey from Meath worthwhile, was Jenny Murphy and the Coral Grand National winner Raz De Maree. From caring for the gelding when in training with Gavin Cromwell, Jenny is enjoying this new venture, having already competed with Raz De Maree at the Dublin Horse Show.

Third place went to Eleanor Erel and the ex Paul Nolan-trained Gelisko, with Carolann Dowling and Bonita Bay taking fourth. Fifth and sixth places went to Sarah Lang riding Sky Tempest and Nicki Russell with Hazard.

Foster horse

Concluding their day with the Open Racehorse to Riding Horse class, judges Aidan Ryan and Leah Kent found their winner in Verbier Flyer, ridden by Lynn Sheehy. The seven-year-old gelding by Ruler of the World ran once before joining the retraining programme at the IHWT. Fostered by Lynn as a three-year-old and in their first year of showing, this partnership won a Treo Eile Training Bursary earlier this year for Riding Club dressage.

Second place went to Chubi Chekker and Rebecca McIntyre, who also put in the miles travelling from Meath. The ultra consistent 10-year-old by Clodovil already qualified, winning at the Glandoran Summer Show.

Sarah Lang and the four-year-old once raced filly Sky Tempest took the yellow ribbon. Winner of the Novice section 12 months ago, Foggy Dew and Sarah Lyons stood in fourth place with the lovely veteran Like the Walk and Selma Page fifth.

All roads lead to the Royal Meath Show on Sunday September 3rd, for the final of the Series.
