THE Irish Pony Club announced that Jaguar Land Rover dealer Auto Boland of Waterford will once again sponsor the 2023 edition of the National Minimus Competition.

This competition which includes three phases - cross-country riding, swimming and running for under 12 Irish Pony Club (IPC) members - has been a huge success in recent years. The Defender National Minimus Competition 2023 will be held in Co Kilkenny at Nuenna Farm Equestrian Centre (Cross-Country riding and the Running phases) and The Watershed, Kilkenny (Swimming phase) over two days – Saturday, June 17th and Sunday, June 18th.

John Flood, IPC Chairman of Tetrathlon, stated: “We are delighted that Auto Boland have agreed again to be title sponsor of our National Minimus Competition 2023. Auto Boland Jaguar Land Rover has deep ties in the local community and this partnership will develop and enhance those links.”

Auto Boland Jaguar Land Rover’s General Manager, Pat Drea, remarked: “We are proud to sponsor Minimus 2023. We are happy to offer support to the Irish Pony Club and wish all their participants every success over the June weekend here on Noreside.”

The Irish team will need to be at the peak of their powers for the international competition as, according to John Flood, chairman of the IPC’s Tetrathlon and Minimus committee, very strong teams are expected to represent England, Northern Ireland and Wales.
