A half-sister to a recent impressive two-year-old winner was the top lot of Tuesday's session of the Goffs Autumn Yearling Sale at 5pm.
The Kodi Bear filly, who was sold by Rathbarry Stud to agents Peter and Ross Doyle for €110,000. is a half-sister to Bayraktar (by State Of Rest), winner of a Beverley maiden for trainer Karl Burke in late September and entered for next year's Irish 1000 Guineas.
After Sun Goddess won at the Breeders' Cup last Friday, her trainer Aidan O'Brien described her sire Sioux Nation as "probably the most underrated stallion in the world".
The Coolmore sire is responsible for lots of speedy fillies, in particular, and he is also the sire of one of the top lot sold on Tuesday.
Consigned by Ballybin Stud, the filly was sold for €82,000 to Paul Power and Jeannie Cook of Kilronan Stables, a pre-training, breaking and pinhooking operation just outside Waterford city.
As of 5pm on Tuesday, 148 of the 182 horses offered had been sold, a clearance rate of just over 81%. The average price was running at €12,100 and the median price at €6,250.
The sale concludes on Wednesday.
