Two fillies were added to the Darley Irish Oaks field this morning leaving a total of 19 still in contention for the €400,000 feature race at the Curragh on Saturday.

The Epsom Oaks runner-up, Architecture, was supplemented by last year's winning trainer, Hugo Palmer, while Roger Varian has added Royal Ascot runner-up, Ajman Princess, to the line up which is currently headed by Aidan O’Brien’s Ribblesdale Stakes winner, Even Song.

Ballydoyle stable are responsible for eight of the remaining runners following Tuesday’s forfeit and supplementary stage.

Aidan O’Brien said; “The plan is that Even Song will go for the Irish Oaks on Saturday and we’ll probably run a couple more in the race also.

“Even Song had a little break since Ascot and we’ve been very happy with her. She seems to handle most types of ground and we are looking forward to running her.

“I’ve been very happy with Somehow since Epsom and we just felt that she didn't act around Epsom and we think the Curragh will suit her better and hopefully Seventh Heaven will be the same and better suited by the Curragh. Pretty Perfect won nicely at Cork and is after really progressing with every run and loves a mile and a half so she is another possible runner on Saturday.”

The Roger Varian-trained Ajman Princess, a daughter of Teofilo will go in search of classic glory after owner Sheikh Mohammed Obaid paid the €40,000 at the final entry stage.

Despite still being a maiden, Ajman Princess has shown progressive form, and took another significant step forward to occupy the runner-up spot behind Irish Oaks ante-post favourite Even Song at the Royal meeting.

"I am very thankful Sheikh Mohammed Obaid has agreed to supplement Ajman Princess for the Irish Oaks at the weekend," the Newmarket trainer told www.varianstable.com.

"I feel she is a filly who is progressing at a rate of knots and she will certainly not look out of place in Group 1 company based on her Royal Ascot form.

"I think the galloping nature of the Curragh will suit her and she is versatile in terms of ground. It looks like being just on the easy side at the weekend, which should not prove problematic.

"Obviously we have a length and a half to find with Even Song, and she sets a high form standard, but our filly is getting better all the time and I hope she can be very competitive."
