THE curtain fell on another year of racing at Dundalk Stadium on Friday, one that saw Joseph O’Brien crowned as leading trainer at the track for the second-successive year. Colin Keane edged out Ronan Whelan to land the jockeys’ championship for the third time. Both championships are sponsored by Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Two winners clear of Michael Halford going into the meeting, the gap was reduced to one when Halford won the first division of the maiden with Godolphin’s Hieroglyphic. The winning favourite is a close relation to the top-class Dubai Millennium.
