I HAVE a full book of rides at Newbury on Saturday, but have only ridden one of the seven horses previously.

That was Shantou Magic, who runs in the Betfred ‘Goals Galore Extra’ Handicap Chase. I won a novice hurdle on him back in 2013 and he then made a promising start to his chase career, winning three times. However, his pieces of form this season have not been great. Hopefully the better ground might bring out some improvement and Charlie Longsdon’s horses are running well.
