THE Irish Horse Centre, powered by the Mayo Roscommon Breeders Group, will host Edition 5 of their successful Breeders Select Foal Sale Ireland, complimented by its inaugural hybrid ‘Young Horse Auction’.

Ninety-one carefully selected event and show jumping-bred foals will be presented by vendors next Saturday, October 8th at Glenamaddy Equestrian Centre Co Galway with viewing of foals from 9.30am with the sale commencing at 11am sharp. All foals are now available for viewing online via The Irish Horse Centre’s auction platform (www.ihc.auction). Designed by the Belgium-based PWEB Solutions, the platform also accommodates live bidding to the international market.

The 2022 foal selection committee which included Peter Leonard, Lyndsey Graham, Meryl Connaughton, Susan McDonald, Dean Rogan, Wiliam Green, Peter Leonard and Joseph O’Brien unanimously agreed: ‘The quality and the production of the record 235 foals presented this year has surpassed all standards of previous years and is an indicator that Irish breeders and the sale are on the correct track towards meeting the demands of the market and the sport of eventing and show jumping.’’

The sale features some stunning lots that have market appeal to owners and producers of event and show jumping horses in the UK, Europe and America. Progeny of world renowned sires Cornet Obolensky, Diamant de Semilly, Daniel Deusser’s legendary campaigner Tobago Z, Zirocco Blue, Tangelo de Zuuthoeve, and Vivant to name just a few are included. The collection also boasts a strong contingent of foals for eventing with solid eventing sires such as Master Imp, Cruising, Puissance and Cavalier Royale appearing in a high percentage of dam line pedigrees.

Inaugural Young Horse Auction

Thirty-four pre-selected young horses for the group’s inaugural ‘Young Horse Auction’ will commence viewing at approximately 4 pm on Friday, October 7th at the Glenamaddy Equestrian centre complex, with the sale starting at 6.30 pm. All young horses are presented with veterinary reports and full X-rays on the on the IHC platform and are suitable for show jumping and eventing. All performance videos and photos are presented on the IHC platform (www.ihc.auction/collections).

For a number of years, the group have offered contract rearing opportunities to national and international buyers and as the young horses have matured with age, so to has the demand for a training and production service with the first young horses being trained under saddle for clients in 2022.

The group invite industry stakeholders to come along and attend the official opening of its new online marketing initiative ‘The ONLINE Irish Horse Centre Market Place’ which will act as an auxillary service to the IHC platform providing a 365-day, year long marketing service to assist breeders and producers in the marketing and promotion of their horse. The opening ceremony commences at 3pm at the foal sale next Saturday.
