ASK For Glory, a winner at Bartlemy point-to-point less than two weeks ago, was sold for £280,000 at the Goffs UK Spring Sale on Wednesday.

The four-year-old son of the late Fame And Glory was trained here by Donal Coffey and will now join British trainer Paul Nicholls after agent Tom Malone bought him on behalf of owner Colm Donnelan.

Eight horses made six figures during the session and they included recent Killarney bumper winner Raya Star. Owner Roger Brookhouse went to £150,000 to secure Sam Curling’s charge who won the same bumper as Cheltenham Festival winner Summerville Boy did before Brookhouse purchased him from Curling at this sale last year.

Denis Murphy’s point-to-point runner-up Gameface was bought by Kieran McManus for £145,000, and Paurick O'Connor winning pointer Alnadam was knocked down to Tom Malone for £130,000.

Today’s session also offered the annual Million In Mind Dispersal, a highlight of the Spring Sale every year, which was topped by the dual winning hurdler Canelo who sold to Kieran McManus for £110,000.

The second and final day of the Goffs UK Spring HIT/P2P Sale will commence tomorrow at 10am and will offer 275 entries.
