A TERRIFIC few months on all fronts for Denis Hogan yielded another slew of winners last Friday as the trainer followed-up a victory on the flat at Down Royal with a double here which gave recently turned professional rider Paul Cawley the first brace of his career.

Both legs of the double involved tight finishes and in fact the Hogan and Cawley shared the spoils with Ronan McNally and Darragh O’Keeffe as Black Spot On (12/1) and Mister Butler (16/1) were inseparable at the finish of the Flood Ironworks Ltd Handicap Hurdle over three miles.
