THE appearance of A.P. McCoy at the Mid-Antrim point-to-point in Moneyglass last Saturday attracted a large attendance to the fixture with many of them heading into Toomebridge after racing to see the locally-born multiple champion British National Hunt jockey take part in the Donkey Derby.

McCoy’s first task at the meeting was to present a cup to the owner of Ballycash, the Colin McKeever-trained, Derek O’Connor-partnered winner of the opening Dennison Commercials four-year-old maiden, who turned out to be none other than the race sponsor himself, Wilson Dennison.
